General Laborers are responsible for operating various machines, loading and unloading heavy materials, supporting pipe installation and the construction of underground infrastructure, as well as supporting skilled tradesmen and superintendents. This role requires physical fitness, a great work ethic, a willingness to get your hands dirty, and a desire to learn. This role is a great place to learn all the base skills that can propel you in all directions within the construction industry. At T&C, our best superintendents and project managers got their start in this role.
Safely operating and maintaining equipment and machines.
Assisting equipment operators and other skilled labor as needed.
Prepping construction sites by clearing debris and hazards.
Load and unload materials.
Remove, fill, or compact earth.
Construct temporary structures to support job site needs.
Following directions from supervisors.
Willingness to learn from on-the-job training as needed.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous tasks.
Ability to work in all weather.
Must be punctual and dependable.
Experience is not necessary but must have a desire to learn.
